This work focus on studying the temperatures developed during the grinding of polyamides and correlating it to the surface quality of the machined piece. Parts made of natural polyamide 6/6 (PA66) and polyamide 6/6 with 30% of glass fibers (PA66GF30) were ground using aluminum oxide (Al2O3) grinding wheel. Workpiece temperature during the process was measured using an internally placed thermocouple to avoid cutting fluid interference during the acquisition. Experimental results were elaborated, and the main correlations identified.
