Current progress of exosomes in hypertension

摘要

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small particles containing various molecules that mediate cellto cell communications in micro-environments. Exosomes are the smallest-sized EVs. Withadequate research, exosomes play an important role in the development of many cardiovasculardiseases (CVDs), including atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia, acute coronary syndrome,heart failure. However, studies of exosomes in hypertension report relatively fewer. This reviewaims to summarize the current progress of exosomes in the progression of hypertension, withemphasis on kidney sodium transport, cell to cell communications, cardiovascular remodelingand vascular calcification.
