Resumo: Esse artigo visa apresentar dois conceitos fundamentais para a compreens?o da hermenêutica filosófica de Hans-Georg Gadamer, a saber, os conceitos de tradi??o e autoridade. Estes ser?o desenvolvidos no horizonte gadameriano de investiga??o e, a seguir, confrontados com as críticas de Jürgen Habermas, filósofo que possui um histórico significante de debates com Gadamer. Deste modo, o intuito do texto é elucidar e enfatizar a posi??o gadameriana frente às críticas de Habermas. These will be developed on the gadamerian inquire horizon and then confronted with the critics of Jürgen Habermas, a philosopher who has a significant history of debates with Gadamer.
