NiAl intermetallic coatings prepared by thermal plasma assisted thermal explosion process

ThispaperdescribesanewmethodtoprepareNiAlintermetalliccompoundcoatingoncarbonsteel.Inthisstudy,NiAlintermetalliccompoundwasfirstlyobtainedbythermalexplosion.SubsequentlyaNiAlcoatingwaspreparedoncarbonsteelbythermalplasmacladding.Theresultsshowedthat,thefinalcoatinglayerofsinglephaseNiAlwasobtained,thelayerhaddensemicrostructure,NiAllayernbsp;andnbsp;carbonsteelhadhighqualitynbsp;metallurgicalnbsp;bond.
