TheundopedandZn-dopedTiO2nanoparticlesweresynthesizedbysol-gelmethodwithtwodifferentprocedures.Thephotocatalyticactivitywasevaluatedbyphotodegradationexperimentsofphenol.TheeffectsofcalcinationtemperaturesandZndopingamountswerediscussed.ItwasfoundthatthephotocatalyticactivityofTiO2preparedbyprocedureBismuchhigherthanTiO2preparedbyprocedureA.Whenthecalcinationtemperaturewas450#8451;andtheZndopingamountwas4%,theZn-dopedTiO2sampleexhibitedthehighestphotocatalyticactivity.Zndopingwasshowntobeanefficientmethodforphenoldegradationundervisiblelight,especiallyundersolarlight.
