Abstract:ABSTRACT: Objective To explore the one-time success rate of peripheral venous puncture techniques. Methods A total of 6028 emergency infusion patients were selected, and applied the appropriate puncture techniques according to individual differences of the patients so as to improve the one time success rate. Results One time success rate of peripheral venous puncture was 97%, second time success rate was 2.5%, and the third time success rate was only 0.5%. Conclusion Selecting the appropriate peripheral vein, taking the tourniquet and applying the right injecting technique according to individual differences of the patients, can improve one-time success rate of peripheral venous puncture, reduce the suffering of the patients and enhance satisfaction as well.
