Abstract:Objective To evaluate the competency-oriented method in clinical teaching for nursing interns. Methods 〓Totally 85 nursing interns were randomly divided into the control group(n=42)and the intervention group(n=43). The conventional clinical teaching method was adopted in the control group, and the competency-oriented clinical teaching method was carried out in the intervention group. The assessment outcomes of theoretical knowledge, clinical practice and comprehensive skills were compared between two groups. Results 〓Nursing interns of the intervention group achieved a higher score of theoretical knowledge, clinical practice and comprehensive skills compared with those of controls(P0.01). Conclusion 〓Competency-oriented clinical teaching method is an effective tool of improving the practical ability of nursing interns.
