摘要

Abstract The rust Melampsora coleosporioides Diet., which first appeared in New Zealand in 1978 on weeping willow (Salix babylonica L.), is believed to have been introduced from Australia by wind-blown spores. The rust has been found to overwinter in New Zealand in the uredinial stage. Of 87 willow clones tested, only 5. babylonica and some of its hybrids were highly susceptible. Most other species showed satisfactory field resistance.
