摘要

In recent years, there has been increasing interest in the search for better water treatment technologiesfor the efficient removal of contaminants. Phenols and its derivatives are considered an environmentalproblem due to their acute toxicity and due to their continuous input to the aquatic ecosystem. Thispaper reviews and discusses the effectiveness of electrochemical oxidation for the removal of phenolsand its derivates from aqueous system. Research is directed towards the influence of the structure ofsuch compounds, types of electrode materials as well as the media in which the electrochemicaloxidation takes place on the efficiency of the removal of contaminants.
