To one who for twelve years came into almost daily contact with Marion Dondale as a co-worker in the Albany Medical College Library, she seemed simple and direct, yet, at the same time, complex and withdrawn. This impression was derived from her characteristics of humility and diffidence. Humility she wore quietly, as a habit; diffidence she discarded on occasion, for she possessed courage that transcended her personal needs and wishes. Only as one slowly grew to know her, did one become aware of her talents and her humor, of her kindness, tolerance, and generosity.0
