Titanium powder derived from rutile sand is used to 3D print automotive parts, representing a double world-first breakthrough in metal manufacturing for its developer, Metalysis. For the first time, low-cost titanium powders, developed by UK based metals specialist, Metalysis, have been used to 3D print automotive parts. To date, the 3D printing 'revolution' has focused on the use of plastics - cheap printers' feedstock and high throughput.
