Guilford Emergency Services Building

Guilford, Connecticut is located on the shore of Long Island Sound, about a 20 minute drive east of New Haven, Connecticut along the federal highway, I-95 which passes through Guilford. For as long as there has been firehouses, Guilford's three out of four stations were located south of I-95 and all within one block of the village green. All three stations are small, and have two single bay facilities. Also located just off the village green and behind the Town Hall is the ambulance garage, which was originally a barn, built sometime in the 1800's. The Fire Marshal and Chiefs' offices were located in the basement of the Town Hall in an area that was the former Town Jail. Guilford was way over due for a new facility for their increasing number of firefighting apparatus, emergency vehicles and personnel.
