Capitol Park Community Center

The Capitol Park Community Center is a focal point of the Hope VI neighborhood of Capitol Park in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Hope VI is a federal grant program administrated by HUD designed to replace "worn-out" public housing projects with neighborhoods that are less dense, more pedestrian-friendly and comprised of both market-rate and affordable housing. The Raleigh Housing Authority was awarded a thirty million dollar grant to demolish derelict Halifax Court, built in 1947, relocate its residents and construct a new revitalized community.
