When I prepared this, my final Comment piece for Eureka, I reflected on the last three years as Editor and which stories really made an impression. Several sprang to mind, the first being an interview with the charismatic British designer, James Dyson, who I met last year at his company's grand, modern-looking headquarters in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. The story appeared in Eureka's special 25th anniversary issue, back in November 2005. As well as having the privelege to meet and talk with Dyson, who is undoubtedly one of the UK's most successful business entrepreneurs and designers, it also gave me the opportunity to see, first hand, how the Dyson empire operates: from initial design, product development, prototyping and testing, right through to sales, marketing and customer services. A truly mind-blowing day for anyone lucky enough to be allowed through the gates.
