The City of Oceanside Water Utilities Department recently installed a reverse osmosis plant within their city The 2 mgd reverse osmosis facility is arranged as a single-train 30:12 array using 322 8-inch Hydranautics CPA2 membranes. There are seven elements per pressure vessel. Initial performance of the treatment system has been outstanding, given the unexpected feedwater quality (high iron and manganese) coming from one of the two site supply wells. The plant is producing water at a cost of $387/acre-foot.
