The anti-caries effects of dental adhesive resin influenced by the position of functional groups in quaternary ammonium monomers

Objectives. A new quaternary ammonium monomer (QAM), triethylaminododecyl acrylate (TEADDA) was synthesized, in which the position of the functional groups was different from that of dimethylaminododecyl methacrylate (DMADDM). The objectives were to: (1) investigate the effect of the changed position of the functional groups on the mechanical properties, anti-biofilm activity and biocompatibility of adhesive resin, and (2) study the anti-bacterial mechanism of QAM to improve the performance of the adhesive system modified by QAM.
