Eurasia is, indeed, the "world island" of the future, and the key focus of "the new geopolitics", as described by Alexandros Petersen in his new work, The World Island: Eurasian Geopolitics and the Fate of the West. In this he reiterates both the importance of the emerging Eurasian structural integration and the post-Cold War geopolitical framework, oudined in the February 2011 book, Energy Security 2.0, published by the International Strategic Studies Association.
