Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Competition

摘要

The results of the 2013 Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Competition (cosponsored by Hercher Publishing, Inc., and the Decision Sciences Institute) were recently announced. The focus of this competition is to encourage and publicize outstanding dissertation research by selecting and recognizing outstanding dissertations completed during 2012 in the decision sciences. The 2013 competition was coordinated by Arunachalam Narayanan (University of Houston). As editor of the flagship journal of the Decision Sciences Institute, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize two individuals (one winner, and one honorable mention) for their exemplary and outstanding research abilities. What appears in the remainder of this article is a summary of each dissertation submitted by each awardee.
