The consumer electronics industry continues to evolve at a pace that may seem overwhelming to retailers as they attempt to build strategic plans and investments. Significant momentum in the following two areas makes them important for CE retailers to understand as they strive for differentiation and growth. On the high end, emphasis on selling installation services is increasing as margins for plasma TVs and home theater suites decline. While on the low end, the iPod has made fashion and access the new driving forces.
