Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems [CCTNS]

CCTNS is a ministry of home mission mode project under NeGP, aimed at creating a network that would facilitate smoother information sharing among police stations across the country, thus helping track criminal activities more effectively and helping in speedy investigation of crimes. First conceptualized in 2008, during UPA-I, it was approved by CCEA in June 2009, with an allocation of ￡2,000 crore.
