For some, going against the waves of the sea is a challenge, but for others like Girish Rao, head, IT, Marico, it was the only way to fulfill his childhood dreams. Remembering the early days, Rao says, "I always had the passion to become an engineer, but lack of good scores prevented me from graduating in the science stream. In order to complete my graduation, I took up a B.Com course. But my thirst for knowledge from the engineering stream was satiated by my friends (studying the course) who would lend their books or share their insightful knowledge. I would continue on my drive of knowledge accumulation parallely with my B.Com studies. In other words you can say that I had been attracted to the field of engineering per se."
