DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES ARE DEMOCRATIZING CYBER RISKS

What are your views on the cyber security strategies being adopted by Indian companies? According to a recent report from KPMG, 72% of Indian companies had cyber attacks in 2015, and in another report from the University of Maryland and Virginia Technology Institute, India is among the world's most vulnerable countries to cyber attacks. Considering the special role that India has in hosting a large number of IT services companies, which provide critical services to other companies around the world, these statistics are especially alarming. The case of the TalkTalk cyber attack in the UK, is a good example of the services nexus for attacks. In that case, employees of a company in India that provided services to TalkTalk were arrested for their role in the attack. As global providers of IT services, and also as emerging centers for digital innovation, Indian companies have a lot to lose if they do not improve their cyber security strategies.
