ESD-sofe lighting: The forgotten part of ESD-safe working environments

The idea of guarding against damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD)—the transfer of electrostatic charge between objects at different potentials— dates as far back as the fifteenth century, when European military organizations implemented various processes for the handling and storing of munitions. The discovery of the semiconductor and its evolution into modern-day electronics and computer manufacturing has driven the need for the development and institutionalization of ESD-protec-tive practices and materials to new heights.
