摘要

In magnetic-recording devices for digital data storage, such as disk and tape drives, information is stored in the form of magnetic patterns written onto a storage medium. These magnetic patterns are formed when the current in the write head is reversed at specific instances in time. When data is retrieved or read back, that stored information is converted into timing instants at which the readback process produces voltage pulses that correspond to the current reversals that first created the stored magnetic patterns.
