It is the greatest compliment as an academic to be taken seriously by one'srnpeers. In having to engage some of their points critically, I want to allowrnthat my comments are made within the context of sincere appreciation ofrneach of their very different and very substantial contributions to our field,rnincluding this critique of the work of David Hall and myself.
