Ultraviolet global radiation measurements, carried out with an Epply UV radiometer, were evaluated in terms of the moon's synodic rotation. Measurements were taken at the sunbathing terrace of St. Lucas Bath in Budapest from 1979 to 1990. A significant maximum was detected after the full moon, and a minimum between the first quarter and full moon. The amplitude of only 9% is rather small. A small negative correlation (r = -0.35) was found between summer and winter values. A significant value was found in winter, four days after the new moon, and in summer, two days after the full moon. The results may be useful in long-term forecasts for tourism and medical sunbathing treatment.
