The resurgent standard bike market in the US (in addition to growing demand in other parts of the world) has prompted Suzuki to create four all-new motorcycles that will debut later this year as early-release 2016 models. The naked GSX-S1000 will be accompanied by the full-fairing GSX-S1000F, while the naked GSX-S750 will be joined by a slightly upgraded GSX-S750Z model. "With an upright seating position, matte silver-painted one-piece handlebar, and potent 749cc fuel-injected inline-four engines, the GSX-S750 and 750Z are ready to carve corners and turn heads out on the street," Suzuki says about its new midsize roadsters. The engine in both GSX-S750 models is based on a previous-generation GSX-R750 powerplant that's been tuned with city streets in mind. Press material doesn't say which particular model the engine was pulled from, though bore and stroke numbers (72.0 × 46.0mm) suggest the engine has been borrowed from a bike no newer than the 2005 GSX-R750-all later-model GSX-R750s use new cylinders with 70.0 × 48.7mm bore and stroke measurements. "Everything from the engine's cam profiles to the intake and exhaust tracts are designed to boost low-end torque and midrange power," Suzuki adds.
