Dispute Review Boards ― One View

It should be obvious that disputes during construction projects are counterproductive to the progress of a project. A dispute review board (DEB) is one method of resolving disputes. It is currently mainly used on public projects, but its use is growing in the private sector. This article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using dispute review boards based on a case study; the issues covered include defining dispute review boards, background information on dispute resolution methods, a description of the case study project, the roles of the parties involved, DRB member selection, the causes of disputes, and the perspectives of owners, contractors, and construction managers.
