摘要

This article is a case study on how the construction management team on the Sprinter project developed a project control system allowing for a comprehensive documentation of contractor daily operations, analysis of progress and efficiency issues and monthly assessment of contractor's performance. This article will focus on the development, deployment, and implementation of a Sprinter Quantities Control System (SQCS) that was custom developed to aid the project controls professionals to monitor contractor progress on a monthly basis. This highly innovative system was developed to provide the project owner with a comprehensive progress analysis and evaluation intended to address project issues in a timely fashion and to ensure execution of the project in accordance with the currently approved project schedule. The Sprinter project converts 22 miles of existing freight rail alignment into a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) passenger rail system with service to 14 stations.
