The Atlanta Area Section meeting attendance continues to grow this year. On Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, the Atlanta Area Section members enjoyed a presentation on and introduction to LEED 3.0, presented by Susie Spivey-Tilson, manager of the Sustainable Studio at tvsdesign.rnMs. Spivey-Tilson discussed in detail the changes in creden-tialing standards accompanying the latest update of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards developed and managed by the US Green Building Council and, in the process, explained the new personnel accreditation categories which include LEED accreditations for new construction, core and shell, existing buildings, homes, and neighborhood development. She also introduced the LEED Green Associate credential for individuals in non-technical fields of practice denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations.
