Building a Technical Article

The authors of each of these three technical papers were asked to respond to a set of questions designed to provide you the reader with additional insight into how and why each author selected their topic, what takeaways they want you the reader to get when you read through the articles and other useful information and/or tips on how you can follow in their steps to write and submit an abstract/technical paper for AACE International’s annual Call for Papers. Authors Dr. Ricardo M. Tapia and Dr. Douglas D. Gransberg, PE, have advice for those who may not have submitted papers to AACE before. Tapia says, “Provide an article that builds on the cost engineering body of knowledge and try to innovate.” Gransberg says, “Pick a topic that has practical value to cost engineers. Use real data.”
