Organizations vary in their appreciation of the potentialimpact of the risks that could affect their achieving timeand cost goals while completing the project’s scope. Thisarticle lays out a risk analysis maturity model that allowsorganizations to determine: (1) where they are todayon the scale from "not aware" to "advanced integratedcost-schedule risk analysis" and (2) where they want tobe, what is their optimal level of risk analysis maturity.The levels of maturity are described along with theirbenefits and properties including tools and outputs thatdistinguish them from other maturity levels. This articledoes not mandate that organizations strive to achievefull advanced cost-schedule integration methods andtools (level 5) unless that is desired. Often some projectswill require more or less risk analysis maturity dependingon size, complexity, type of project or other criteria.
