Taking IHI, R2P and Legitimate Defense Seriously: North Korea as the Primary Consideration

North Korea's human rights issues are not as well known among the world population as they should be, but the trend is moving towards greater awareness. The human rights issues tend to be subsumed under the security issues. Both by themselves are very important, and together, they constitute the most serious pair of crises in the world. Usually, they have been addressed separately. However, addressing both together increases the possibilities of resolving either one—not unlike the Helsinki Process regarding the former Soviet Union.
