FPA Achievement Awards honor high-tech packages

Winners in the Flexible Packaging Assn.'s 2004 Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition exemplify the dramatic impact technology is having on both the form and function of flexible packaging. Many of this year's winners incorporate "first-of-its-kind" technologies, while others have either received or are awaiting patents on their breakthrough processes or structures. In a dramatic turnaround from only a few years ago, a record-setting 126 entries were received in the 2004 program. In all, 28 packages took 36 awards. Each was honored Feb. 27 during the FPA Annual Meeting in Naples, FL. For the fourth year in a row, two entries shared the Highest Achievement Award.
