Risk of using PVC for boiler venting

Do you use PVC for boiler venting? If yes, why? Using PVC (polyvinyl chloride pipe) for boiler venting is quite common. It's cheap, it's familiar, it's right there on hand, and "everybody does it." Why wouldn't you want to use it? Well, as a contractor, how do you feel about being charged with criminally negligent homicide? Think it can't happen? Think again. Shortly after Thanksgiving, 2008, in Aspen, Colo., a family of four died in their sleep of carbon monoxide poisoning while visiting a $9 million home. Allegedly the PVC venting had come apart. It was reported that the contractor didn't remember if he had glued it or not. Some stories say that the PVC was also crumbling.
