Nuttall achieves 3.2% margin on ￡590m turnover

Edmund nuttall made a 3.2% margin last year on a record workload of ￡590m. Financial figures for the 12 months to 31 December 2007 show pre-tax profit at ￡19m (￡20m). Nuttall's margin in 2006 was 3.4% and ran to a total of 5.1% in the year before that. The forward orderbook at the year-end stood at ￡640m. A further ￡200m of orders have been won within the first two months of this year. Nuttall's total number of reportable accidents per 100 employees per year held firm at 0.55, which the company described as "a figure that represents one of the best in the industry". Frameworks continue to deliver a substantial portion of turnover. Partners include South West Water, Network Rail and the Highways Agency.
