Mowlem acquisition helps lift Carillion to £4bn player

Carillion is now a big league player with £4bn annual turnover. Its latest figures show a 2.4% profit margin. Figures covering the financial 12 months to 31 December 2007 show a record pre-tax profit of £94m (£68m). The Mowlem acquisition has given Carillion a surge in size and there will be more to come as the following figures for 2008 will contain an extra contribution from Alfred McAlpine, Carillion having completed that second big takeover deal just four weeks ago.
