Ezidig takes the plunge with cable and pipe locator

Cable Detection's Ezidig is said to be the world's first excavator-mounted buried service avoidance tool designed to prevent damage to underground installations and reduce the risk to excavator operators. High-strength magnets attach the Ezidig sensor to the dipper arm and the system displays a warning on the cab-mounted screen if it detects electromagnetic signals emitted by buried metallic services such as cables.
