Two Target Bexley ￡150m Regen Deal

Two developers are working up proposals for a regeneration scheme in south-east London, worth up to ￡150m. Bexley Council's Bexley First project centres on revitalising Bexleyheath's town centre and the scheme has attracted John Laing and the Mall Corporation, part of the Capital Four Regional Development group. The deal has yet to get planning consent, so a start on site is unlikely until 2010 or early 2011. The centrepiece of the scheme will be a new civic centre. The proposals also include more than 28,000m~2 of mixed -use development, featuring a department store, leisure facilities, 300 homes and car parking.
