The number of electrical contractors that provide design/build services for traditional electrical work has been steadily growing for decades. Thirty percent of all electrical contractors provided projects to their customers through this delivery vehicle in 1997, according to Electrical Contractor magazine.rnThere are a variety of reasons to account for the increase of design/build projects in electrical construction. First, customers are more frequently choosing this approach because it is more cost-effective for them. Secondly, design/build is a natural progression of the closer relationships being developed between electrical contractors and their customers. Finally, more contractors are providing some sort of engineering expertise to respond more ably when customers ask for design help.
