The typical image of a Johnson Controls employee is someone seated at a computer workstation, or installing a building control system, or working in an office. But look around the world and you may also see Johnson Controls people doing some very unusual things, things like supervising the construction of a military aircraft taxiway in the Middle East, or helping to rebuild housing after a hurricane in Mississippi, or helping to create a temporary city for refugees from the war in Kosovo. These and many other military and humanitarian projects are daily challenges for the staff of Readiness Management Support (RMS), a wholly owned Johnson Controls subsidiary that helps the United States government respond to crises around the world. It is a specialized service that developed as Johnson Controls sought to respond to the needs of one of our largest customers: The US military. Work on these varied projects requires coordination, logistical and technical expertise, and sensitivity to cultural differences. RMS experts working with the U.S. Air Force and with the State Department provide fast, cost-effective and flexible response to meet a wide range of needs.
