Each time a new technology or device is introduced, I always wonder how the general public will react to it. If you're like me, you might already be addicted to your smartphone (for me it's an Android). And what about a tablet computer that you can take practically anywhere? According to a forecast from the International Data Corp. (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker, tablet shipments are expected to grow 58.7% year over year in 2013 reaching 229.3 million units, up from 144.5 million units in 2012. IDC predicts tablet shipments will exceed those of portable PCs this year.
