Performance-based design achieves fire, life safety

摘要

The article presents information on performance-based design in case of buildings. According to the author, it is the duty of engineer of record to make all parties aware of changes to performance-based guidelines which are broad in nature. The effect of early design decisions on safety standards and reduction of waste is also examined.
