Collaborative Project Management Technology and teamwork

Integrated and more overtly collaborative professional practices can be expected in planning, architecture, interior design, engineering, landscape architecture, construction, and facility management. Project management will be enhanced through round the clock Web sites with new procedures, protocols, and processes. Just a few years ago, integrated project delivery (IPD) was a novel concept, but it is now very much a part of the construction industry's vision. Integrated project delivery breaks down the silos dividing architect, engineer, and contractor, allowing for the complete sharing of project information. While this practice has typically been frowned on due to organizational tradition, the philosophy behind IPD reinvents the way in which these parties share information and allows them all to work in a single model contractually from the beginning to the end of the design-build (D-B) process.
