摘要

Due to their roles in building energy consumption, window and curtain wall performance are given close attention when model energy codes are updated or adopted by local jurisdictions. Selection of high-thermal-performance glass and framing, coupled with integrated design and use of natural daylight, can make windows and curtain wall systems positive contributors to building energy performance. To understand thermal performance, knowledge of heat transfer, U-factors, solar heat gain coefficient, and air/vapor barriers is necessary.
