Introduce new 'chartered' title to protect members

In response to your article, "CIOB is the natural home of process drivers" (CMJuly/August), I would like to throw my support behind the proposal that an alternative "chartered construction manager" title might be made possible. This is a subject that is currently very close to my heart. I am employed by one of the UK's largest civil engineering firms, but while my professional qualification as MCIOB is (I assume) respected by senior management, it is quite frankly looked upon with derision by most of my colleagues as being the poor cousin to MICE.
