NEW STREET SITE VISIT PROVES A HIT WITH LUCKY FEW

Mace hosted a tour of the Grand Central Fit Out Area at New Street, Birmingham, in September for members of the Birmingham and Coventry centres. The event included a visit to the flagship John Lewis store. It proved to be a popular event with a long reserves list (the site could only accommodate a group of 15). One of the lucky guests, Mark Ramessa, said it was one of the best site tours he had attended. "To be able to see behind the scenes on such a major project was excellent," he said. "We were accompanied by members of the project teams who explained many of the engineering challenges and the risk management involved in working above a live rail station."
