Glasgow hospital site visit shows BIM in action on multi-project challenge

Main contractor BAM Construct is currently working on three projects simultaneously on one site: a teaching and learning facility, new office and a clinical research facility. The £15m new state-of-the-art Teaching and Learning Facility is a joint venture between NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and the University of Glasgow and will consolidate a series of fragmented training locations. The Stratified Medicine Scotland Innovation Centre will provide a facility to research chronic diseases. The £20m administration complex will provide 1,200 workspaces for clinical and administrative staff transferring to the new campus from the Western Infirmary, Victoria Infirmary, parts of the existing Southern General and Yorkhill Hospital when the hospital opens next year. BAM has recently handed over phase 1, refurbishment of level 5, at the Clinical Research Facility and is now working on phase 2 refurbishment works.
