Engineers and field reps at Columbia Steel plan to help CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 attendees get the knowledge they need to make informed choices about wear parts. The company said that gathering real-world equipment data is a crucial first step toward improving crusher operations and reducing downtime. 'Wear studies' covering aspects such as feed and discharge information, throughput rates, change-out records, and measurements of worn parts allow plant operators and their suppliers to select the right wear part designs and alloys for a given job based on facts, not guesswork. According to Columbia Steel, many crusher OEMs generally offer, wear part designs based on average conditions, but few crusher operators actually work under 'average' conditions. While exhibiting at the show, Columbia Steel will feature scale models and product information for its gyratory, cone, jaw, impactor and roll crusher wear parts.
