Hitachi has added two models to its Zaxis Dash-5 line, the ZX75US-5 and ZX85USB-5. The two reduced-tail-swing excavators join the ZX135US-5 and ZX245USLC-5 in the company's reduced-tail-swing offering. The machines' reduced-tail-swing design allows operators to navigate and work around obstacles and congested job sites where traditional excavators may not fit. An independent swing-boom enables operation closer to curbs, or in traffic. In addition, the excavators combine a hydraulic-boom system with an enhanced boom recircu-lation function to generate more aggressive boom/arm speed. This returns the arm to the dig position faster, in turn enhancing productivity, Hitachi says.
